MOSCOW, Aug 25 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom and Mongolia have signed a memorandum to establish a joint venture (JV) that would elaborate a technical feasibility study for the construction and use of a trunk gas pipeline for supplies to China, Gazprom said in a statement on Tuesday.

"During the meeting, (CEO of Gazprom) Alexei Miller and Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia Yangugiin Sodbaatar signed a memorandum of intent on the establishment of a special-purpose company,” Gazprom said.

“The company will be established in Mongolia to elaborate a technical and economic feasibility study of construction and use of the trunk pipeline."
